From an idea to a real book

Murray imagines her family in a flower garden.

A dress-up photo, a family-and-Poki idea, a watercolor character, and a garden mystery she could hold.

Step 1

Bring the child

A real photo gave the adventure its curious hero: Murray.

Listen for the idea

From one idea to the book in their hands

Murray helped imagine her story, and this is the moment she opens the finished hardcover. Every book starts the same way: one child, one idea, and a story you read and polish before it is printed.

Personalized book gift questions

What makes a personalized StorySafari book a good gift?

The child is the hero of an original illustrated story, made from a photo or description and an idea you choose, then printed as a hardcover they can keep. It is not a fixed book with a name dropped in.

How much does a personalized book gift cost?

On the web, $7 completes one personalized story and includes the print credit for one standard-color softcover. Hardcover is +$8 and premium color is +$3. Shipping, applicable tax, and extra pages are separate.

Can I make books for more than one child?

Yes. Make a different story for each child. Your first book starts with a free preview, and each book after that is $7 plus shipping, paid before you create it, with no subscription. Up to three characters can also share one story.

Can the book ship straight to the child?

Yes. At checkout you choose the recipient name and shipping address, and the packing slip in the box never shows the price. Printing usually takes 5–7 business days before the book ships, and you choose standard or expedited shipping.

Can I add a personal message to the book?

Yes. At checkout, add an optional dedication of up to 200 characters. It is printed inside the book, on the opening title page or the last page depending on the layout, and you can preview it before you pay.

Do I need a photo of the child?

No. You can upload a photo or describe the child instead. If the book is a surprise, ask a parent for a photo they are happy to share.
