A real StorySafari family

From one photo to the book in their hands

Murray's story began with a dress-up photo, and this is the moment she opens the finished hardcover. Every book starts the same way: one child, one idea, and a story you read and polish before it is printed.

How it works

From a photo to a hardcover in three steps

You do not need to be a writer or an artist. One photo and one idea they would love are enough to begin.

1

Upload a photo

Choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP photo under 15 MB, or describe them instead.

2

Meet their character

StorySafari turns the photo into an illustrated character. Review it, or try another photo, before the story begins.

3

Make the story

Pick an adventure, read every page, and order the hardcover when it feels right.

Real StorySafari example

From one dress-up photo to a printed family keepsake

Murray imagined her family and Poki in a flower garden, became a watercolor character, and ended up holding her own printed mystery.

Step 1

Start with the photo

A real photo gave the adventure its curious hero: Murray.

Step 2

Create the character

StorySafari turned Murray into a reusable watercolor character.

Murray's idea My family in a flower garden

Her parents and Poki joined a mystery among gray, wilted flowers.

Step 3

Add one idea

A shared memory or favorite thing is enough to spark the whole story.

Step 4

Make the story

The idea became The Gray Garden Mystery, where the family helps a magical garden bloom again.

Hold the keepsake

Choosing the photo

A good photo, and what happens to it

Pick a recent photo where their face is easy to see. JPG, PNG, and WebP photos under 15 MB all work. If the book is a surprise, ask a parent for a photo they are happy to share.

No photo? Describe them instead: hair, eyes, glasses, freckles, a favorite outfit. Each of up to three characters in a story can start from a photo or a description, so a sibling, grandparent, or pet can join them.

StorySafari uses the photo to create the illustrated character for your stories. AI service providers may process photos to create illustrations, and we do not sell personal information. You can contact us to request deletion; the privacy policy explains the details.
