Dragon peeked over the castle wall and gasped. A rainbow bridge arched across the moat, its colors shining in the morning mist.
Dragon spread tiny wings and stepped onto the first red stone. The stone bobbed like a bubble, so Dragon pressed four little claws firmly against the shining path.
One careful step led to another, and Dragon reached the bridge’s golden middle. Below, silver fish flashed through the moat, making the rainbow stones sparkle brighter.
Then a cool wind swept between the towers. The bridge twisted, and its last blue stone slipped loose beneath Dragon’s foot.
Dragon fluttered hard and landed on the castle-side bank. There, beside the drawbridge chain, a glowing rainbow ribbon curled in the grass.
Dragon picked up the ribbon, but the rainbow bridge shivered again. Holding the glowing strand in both claws, Dragon wondered whether it could mend the path before the colors faded.
Dragon spotted the rainbow bridge’s loose first plank and a golden key glinting beneath it. Carefully, Dragon curled one claw around the key before the bright bridge could wobble again.
Dragon slipped the golden key into a tiny lock beneath the loose stone. With a bright click, the key pulled the plank snug against the rainbow bridge.
But the bridge still quivered in the wind. Dragon wrapped the glowing ribbon around the next two stones, and its warm colors tightened like a gentle hug.
The wind gave one last swoosh, but the stones held firm. Dragon tested the bridge with one careful claw, then crossed it again as every color shone steady beneath its feet.
At the far side, Dragon tied the ribbon to the castle’s bright gatepost. The bridge glowed from red to violet, making a safe, shining road for everyone who came after.
Dragon curled up beside the castle gate and watched the rainbow bridge sparkle in the evening light. The adventure had begun with a wobble, but it ended with a path home—and a proud little dragon ready for tomorrow.
