The Secret Train Beneath The Castle: A Magical Train Adventure

This free illustrated story follows Zarja and Fran on a hidden train beneath Ljubljana Castle. Crystal caves, an underwater tunnel, and a mermaid guide their magical adventure home.

In Ljubljana Castle’s sunny courtyard, Zarja knelt by the low stone bench and spotted a tiny arched door in the wall. Beside her, Fran crouched and pointed at little tracks curling across the flagstones. “Where do they go?”

Zarja pushed the tiny door open, and warm lanterns lit a narrow stone passage. At the end, a jewel-bright train waited on little brass rails. Fran gazed at it in wonder. “All aboard!”

The train rolled into a huge cave beneath the castle. Crystals hung from the violet-gray walls like frozen stars, and glittering specks danced in the air. Fran and Zarja stared, amazed.
