In Ljubljana Castle’s sunny courtyard, Zarja knelt by the low stone bench and spotted a tiny arched door in the wall. Beside her, Fran crouched and pointed at little tracks curling across the flagstones. “Where do they go?”

Zarja pushed the tiny door open, and warm lanterns lit a narrow stone passage. At the end, a jewel-bright train waited on little brass rails. Fran gazed at it in wonder. “All aboard!”

Fran and Zarja climbed inside and settled onto the velvet-blue seats. Starry windows sparkled as the lamps glowed, and the little train began to hum. “We’re moving!” cheered Zarja.

The train rolled into a huge cave beneath the castle. Crystals hung from the violet-gray walls like frozen stars, and glittering specks danced in the air. Fran and Zarja stared, amazed.

Beyond the cave, the train slipped into a clear glass tunnel beneath the sea. Blue water shimmered on both sides as bubbles floated past Fran’s window, while Zarja watched swaying seaweed and coral.

A smiling mermaid swam beside the train. “I’m Mira,” she called, holding a glowing shell toward colorful fish. Zarja waved, and Fran leaned close to the glass to see its soft aqua light.

Mira guided them past a slow sea turtle, darting fish, and a graceful octopus. Fran pointed in amazement, while Zarja grinned at the twisting arms. The glowing shell sparkled beside Mira.

Soon the train slowed at a coral crossroads. Two rail paths split beneath waving seaweed, but the dim blue water hid the way back. Zarja studied the tracks, while Fran looked uncertain and Mira lifted her shell.

Then Fran spotted a faint curly pattern beside the dim path. It matched the curls around the castle door! Zarja smiled bravely. “Let’s follow what you noticed,” she said, as Mira held the glowing shell close.

Mira stretched out her glowing shell, and aqua light curled along the dim rails. Fran grinned proudly as Zarja raised a happy hand; the train rolled onto the shining path.

The train hurried through the glittering cave beneath sparkling crystals. At the watery tunnel’s edge, Zarja and Fran waved goodbye to Mira’s distant blue glow.

Back in Ljubljana Castle’s sunny courtyard, Fran and Zarja stood proudly beside the tiny door. They shared a warm smile as it clicked shut, keeping their wonderful adventure safe inside.
